Good boat for the money, i got mine from amazon warehouse so it was about 30% off the regular amazon price. it came well packed. the boat itself is ~7-1/2" long and it is, as a whole rather attractive. (the 12" is likely from the bottom of the keel to the top of the mast...not the length) the sails/mast/rigging unit is not attached to the boat. This model is very detailed and easy to assemble. i did this model as a kid and now as an adult, i have found a great conversation piece. like all revell models the instructions were clear, and the paint scheme was easy. the only thing i would add is that i would have liked to have more decals for the model..
